Here is a simple map of the Lake Arenal, Costa Rica area. The main road from La Fortuna to Tilaran/Canas passes along the eastern and northern sides of the lake and is paved. This is a very curvy road as it dips in and out of the canyons and ravines that surround the lake so be careful and take your time, enjoy the spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. Travel time from La Fortuna to Tilaran is approximately 1.5 hours.
